[May contain spoilers....]
So, I actually saw this film a week ago, but life has been kind of hectic and I haven't had a chance to post my review! But fear not, here it is ;)
I wanted to see this because everyone has been talking about it, I like World War 1 and World War 2 films and oh yeah, Brad Pitt was in it! I heard really good things about this film and was looking forward to seeing what the hype was all about, unfortunately I came out of the film feeling unsure as to whether I liked it or not. And I wasn't the only...my BFF and boyfriend said the exact same thing!
The acting in it was amazing. Brad Pitt was, of course, excellent and Logan Lerman was also fantastic. In fact he was one of the best things about the film in my opinion. Shia LeBeouf was also brilliant and may have redeemed himself as an actor in this film. However, I found that I couldn't understand most of the actors because they mumbled a lot. Seriously! There was a really important (and very awkward) scene when they boys were eating dinner in the apartment of two German girls and I just couldn't understand the story they were telling. So, I have no idea if it was crucial or not! It did seem important....
I was shocked this was only a 15 as well. It was gruesome and gory, which I expected with a World War 2 film, but I do think it should have been rated higher. I had to look away a few times.
Overall, I am glad I have seen the film, but it's not one I would watch again....6 out of 10!
